Exhaust flange blowout on way home from work

WOW that thing is LOUD!

So, now that my flanges are blown out - it's time to find someone to work on my exhaust.
I've got a bad cold and no place to get it out of the rain where I can work on it.
I called a local shop, they will do it but not until next week.

Or, maybe the weather will clear up and my cold will go away and I can do it myself on Sunday /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif (somebody pass the prozac please...)

OK, so all that isn't likely to happen now is it?
Crud!

Oh, just in case you were wondering - this is on the 70 GT.

Any suggestions as to something I can buy at my local True Value hardware store or even at one of the cookie cutter auto parts places to spray on these bolts now so that in a couple days they might come out and not break off?

I went to Schucks because NAPA said they couldn't get the things.

Schucks will have two of them for me on Monday.
I bought a can of PB blaster while there, sprayed a couple of bolts but it's way to wet out there to really get into it.

Hopefully there will be a dry spell when I can get out there and spray all the bolts.

If you spray them over a few days, and the original brass nuts are on there, they will probably come off pretty easy. Mine broke two of the six studs last time I took it off. I put steel nuts on it for some reason. Feel better /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Ah, I wasn't planning on removing the manifold.
Just taking the Y pipe off where it connects at the lower side of the manifold, put new flange gaskets in and bolt it back together. The seal at the head is fine, it's just blown out down where the pipe connects.

As long as the nuts come off the studs, you should be good to go. As I recall, it can be done in about an hour if things go well. Just remember the anti-seize one the studs when things go back together.

Don't seem to be any studs, just bolts.
It would likely be easier if they were studs.
