I originally posted this under tools after very moderate at best success at trying to make a bubble flare with my HF flare tool. However after buying a replacement pipe from Moss, the question arises as to whether or not a bubble ic correct and required.
The Moss pipe has a very nice double flare but not a bubble. The pipe I removed, which may not have been original, had bubble flares on both ends, and the one I finally used, made by a professional shop, was the same. It works fine. There was also no problem with the old one either. (I had removed and replaced it and didn't get the bend out of the way of the wheel).
So, is a double flare, as with the Moss pipe, a suitable replacement? Although I didn't try it I assume it will work even though there is no seat in the caliper for it.
Here's the picture from Kartek that I posted in the tool section. The calipers have a seat as in the example to the left:
