Brake line flush

As some of you know from previous posts I got some kind of schmeg in my lines. I now have the callipers and wheel cylinders off but the lines have a close off valve of some kind built in. So how do I let them drain? A few of you suggested flushing, followed by copius amounts of air. How do I do it if they won't even gravity drain? Won't air pressure mess up the end of the line?

:savewave: there is no close off valve if your lines are open. is your master cylinder still attached? Air at normal compressed value will not mess up your lines. No way --elrey
do you own a compressor?:

yes it is,but there is some kind of valve in the end of the. It looks like I could press it in with a small thin punch. Kinda like the air stem in a tire. I didn't try that yet thogh for fear of breaking something. I wanted to consult you guys first.

Are you speaking of the flex line to the caliper? what are you talking about , the bleed valve? Be specific as to location. with the calipers and the cylinders off the car the line ends should just be open tubes.

yes. I didn't take a close look at the back line but figured they're the same cause they're not gravity draining either.

Top up the brake fluid resevoir and pump the brake pedal. Not sure how things are affected if you have a servo in line, you may have to start your engine, but that should produce something out of the lines or at least one of them.
From past experience, I doubt if you would free drain all the fluid out, but there again I have never disconnected the lines from all the wheels in one go.

:savewave: Thanks, Got it covered Bob. I had Donny call me and we sorted it out over the phone. No servo, pushed the pedal and the fluid came out. He's on the right track now.

I suggested plastic bottles. Great minds think alike! Good morning Bob, and good night. :tired:--elrey
