well it is official, I've started the dissasembly process this weekend. So far I am by myself, and now that I'm actually putting my head in there and looking at things I'm realizing that I've got my work cut out for me, but so far in the front part the rust isn't as bad as I've seen them, so I've got a good base to work with. I was able to take off the bonnet, heater motor/ air duct, battery cables, front bumper, front side marker lights, turn signals and headlamps. I tried getting the front wings off, but I"m stuck in a spot. (see closeup photo) I can't seem to get a wrench on the outboard (rt side in photo) bolt head, and I've gotten what appears to be all other bolts out of the front rt wing, except for the one in the top corner, by the attenna. are there any other bolts I may be missing? my haynes manual isn't too specific on removal, so I'm coming to you guys for advice.
here is one of my airtight supply crates I got form work. they are nice to have because they don't leak, and since I don't have a proper garage to work in (yet) its nice to be able to keep this stuff out of the rain.
a funny story, when I was taking the grill off the top edge was supposed to have 4 bolts holding it in. there were two on the right, the inner left was missing and on the far left side of the grill was held inplace by this really big aluminum rivet, that I had to bust out with a hatchet and a hammer. this is all turning out to be a lot of fun.
