Wedge TR7/TR8 seat question

Hi,
I have a TR8 in the shop here and can not for the life of me figure out how to recline the seatback. There are no obvious handles, the only handle is the lower one, below the seat to move it for and aft....whats up?

should be a chrome handle on the left side at bottom of drivers seat,pull up and wiggle seat back and forth. Make sure the seat is not shoved all the way back to the R bulkhead.If no handle use TR6 window or door handle,it will fit,none of these?,then vise grips on the square black rod. Be carefull a big guy can break the seat back,....believe me.

Yup.. Rocks is right. I had my seat welded twice before I found a good non repaired used one. And.. you don't have to be a big guy to break it though. When you are in and you need somthing out of your back pocket, and push your feet on the floor, you can break the seat from the pressure. When you get out of the car, don't push on the top corner of the seat.. it will break. To add.. these seats are extreamly compfortable too for being 30 some years old, arent they /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

When I got my 7 the seats had been swithched right to left. This put the seat back levers on the inside next to the tunnel rendering them nearly unusable. Don't ask how long it took me to figure this out as I had no experience to go on. I agree that the seats are comfortable all things considered. Mine happen to have been done in leather at some time and I find that makes for added comfort over vinyl and more durable than cloth.
