Hello Board:
I am a member of the Triumph Sports Car Club of San Diego, CA. Those of you in clubs on the western half of the United States are probably aware of the annual Triumphfest Conventions over here. Our club is gearing up to host the 2005 convention in October of 2005 (naturally).
I have been talking to our Triumphfest chairman about doing a special... errr... honorarium at the convention. Seeing as how the TR7 came out in 1975, making 2005 the 30th anniversary of the 7, I felt that some attention should be drawn to that model. Doesn't hurt that I love the Wedge and wish I could have my 1977 Jubilee Edition again. 5-Speed with a sliding Sunroof... if I knew just how hard it would be to replace...
anyways...
The theme of the convention will NOT be dedicated to the 7 and 8. However we do wish to have a display commemorating them. We have set the call out to our 7/8 owners and I felt I'd gauge the board here as well.
What would you want to see if you were there?
What would you consider as important examples of the model? Spyder, Victory Edition, Southern Skies edition... so on.
Do you know of anyone who would make an appropriate guest speaker for these cars?
What vendors would be interested in sponsoring a special TR7/8 exhibit?
Drop your answers here or send them to me at:
TriumphSCCSD@cox.net
Thanks!
Chris
