Wedge An issue with trying to start my TR7

Having an issue with trying to start my TR7. First it is fuel injected. What is happening is I have to crank it for a while. Stop and wait a few seconds and it usually starts on the next crank. It happened once last year and once early this spring but has been happening with more frequency. Friday I decided to drive it for work and I'm an outside sales rep and make about 10 customer visits a day. I had to crank it first thing in the morning and also after my first stop. It was fine the rest of the day though. Seems to me it's a fuel delivery problem but not sure. Don't know anything about the ignition system. Any Ideas?

Cold start injector is the first place to look. Also, check the intake duct for cracks or pinholes, especially where it is near the battery.

Didn't get a chance to look at anything this weekend but I did replace the cold start valve 2 years ago. Those intake hoses as I recall don't fit very well.

It's very important that those hoses are air tight. Any air entering the intake system after the air flow meter will upset the air/fuel ratio metered by the ECU and degrade the performance of your car. The fuel charge may not be rich enough to start a cold engine in spite of the added fuel supplied by the cold start injector.

Hey Got_all_4 - Without boring you will all the details, it was brought to my attention that people were getting locked out of this web site (unable to reach my server) after visiting this thread. After some sleuthing I discovered that there was something about the title of this thread that was triggering one of my security rules (my server saw the title in people's browser address bar and mistakenly thought there was a database injection attack being attempted. I slightly re-wrote the title of your thread (eliminated the word "Having" and "PI" and that seemed to fix the issue. Now I just have to go figure out who all was blocked from the site from visiting this topic LOL! Sorry for any inconvenience.

Oh wow sorry about that Basil. Interesting that something that innocent as a topic title can trigger something like that. Not on hear enough anymore to understand that.

No worries. It’s pretty unusual that a certain combination of words would trigger a security rule. Doesn’t happen very often

Well it happened again. Pull the 7 out for it's madden voyage this year. Started right up, let it idle for a while. Shut it down and waited for the wife to come home so we can go to dinner. Took 3 times of cranking to start. While out every time I went to start it it took a couple of times of cranking to get it going.

This might sound weird, but on my early- fi- Saabs the engines starts better on a full tank. After the first start up, and warm up, the car is fine.

I haven't had time to investigate the problem however now that the temp is up around here there is no problem on restarts. Been trying to brain storm this so what could that tell you?
