Removing my engine/tranny with Headers....

I plan on soon removing my engine/tranny from my TR6. I have done this before but this time I want to know if I can do it without removing my Falcon headers. It would make life so much easier for me to just unbolt the exhaust pipes and leave the headers attached. I haven't gotten the car up in the air yet to look, just being lazy and wondering if anyone knows. It seems that it is not doable, hopefully I am wrong.

I removed mine with a pacesetter header attached. As long as you can disconnect the header from the rest of the exhaust at the normal termination point of the header I can't imagine it would be any different.

Thanks. It is so much easier to attach intake and exhaust manifolds on the ground, as well as check for header leaks.

The prep work to remove the engine/tranny is a pain but leaves you with so much room to work for floorboard replacement. Also, I may well have to rebolt the steering and roll the car outside to cut and weld, not sure yet. Safety big concern. I have fiberglass blankets to block the flash, not sure if I want to weld indoors yet.

My whole Falcon exhaust system is held together with band clamps so taking it down is easy.. Used flex pipes and rigid mounts, very effective and easy to hang. Will have to post pics one day.

I weld indoors, no big deal. Just make sure the gas lines are disconnected, flushed and allowed to dry. The gas tank is another story

Just be very, very careful. A local shop just went up in flames last week due to someone welding inside the building early in the morning. Apparently it was cold, there were fumes inside that he didn't smell, the doors were closed because it was cold and KABOOM! The customers cars are still in there, pretty much toasted.
