is 77 years young, wife gone but.
He has two Mazda race cars, a Mini race car ( he says it did 140 in its day and has the pics to prove it, the engine is all apart and is just lovely inside, ported polished, etc, etc.) and a Mercades and a Fiat he is restoreing.
Has a complete shop with everything and lots of room.
I try to spend a few hours a week keeping him company and just chating.
Today I thought I would do something different. I took a bunch of Sprite parts over and started through them with the blast cabnet. Got a set of fan blades, and two water pump pullys blasted and the other stuff in the gunk tank. Seems I have an extra oil pan, defroster nozels, valve cover, two heat shelds, 6 tappet chest covers, front and back peices to a heater, and on and on. Not enough for another car of course but a lot of stuff too good to dispose of.
So I am in the process of blasting, primeing and painting it all. Very satisfying work. I will lable, box and store carefully just in case. In fact primer is drying on the fan and pullys now, they going to be yellow. Shoot even found an extra stock head and stearing arms along with a whole rack. I guess I had forgotten what I did have, in fact have a very large box that is untouched as yet.
Was a good idea, very satisfying work and it will be fun to have em on the shelf.
