Is new to our area only about 20 miles away.

Got 50 feet of air hose for 10 bucks. No more moveing air compressor around to work on things.

You know I have 18 tires that need checked from time to time. Gesh. How I ever got along without a compressor I will never know.

Hey Jack hope you got some of the good stuff like 1/2" or bigger. You make find as I did that the cheap hose loses so much pressure that your air tools won't work well. I changed all of my fittings over to larger size i.e. larger ID on hose as well as all of the quick disconnects. Pressure drop is significant for each and every coupling and fitting between the compressor and the tool.

1/2" Hose I.D. plus larger quick disconnects. I found running 2 50' sections of 3/8" hose along with assorted quick disconnects and couplers I ended up with a better than 50-60% loss in air pressure at my impact wrench. Impact wrench rated at 450 ft. lbs. could not budge the lug nuts on my daily driver. Ended up changing out all hoses to a 50' section of 1/2" hose and changed all of the fittings on all of my air tools to 1/2" I.D. Unbelievable difference in performance and torque. Google Air Hose AND Pressure Drop for lots of info on the subject.

My hose is 3/8 and seems to be fine for my purposes, shrug.

It's the length you have to factor in,Jack. Up to 50' you'll get away with the 3/8 hose and fittings, over that and the pressure drop really kicks in.Then you have to move to 1/2 hoses just as Jim has.

Stuart.

Ahh, thanks Stuart, guess I need a larger garage before I need to be concerned.

It seems I mostly use this to take care of the neighborhood kids bikes, hehe, and glad to do so. As a result they are very nice to me, good kids in any case.

Most large communities have an industrial hardware supplier(Grainger, etc.) or bearing supply house or shop equipment store.

Also air quantity is a big factor, If you are just air-up tires then 1/4" line at 100 feet is fine but if you are running a 1/2" impact then 3/8 hose at 50 feet is questionable. I use 3/8" hose at 25 feet and move my compressor (and have a very long 220 volt extension cord).
