An old friend

Quite a few months ago I had asked if anyone knew Paul Haus from NJ. A few people responded but I was left with the possibility he had passed away. Today I stopped by a Lotus dealer to see the Elise cars in stock (10 of them) and just before leaving I asked for a business card. While looking at those stacked on the table I noticed Paul Haus’s name on one pile.

I asked if this could be the same person I was searching for and was told it probably was and that he should returned in a few minutes. A car pulled up and it was Paul. Still recognized him after 32 years. We had a short reunion and I was very happy he was still around and involved in cars. At one point he had 6 (yes six) Healey S cars.

Great!
Was that the dealer in Princeton? I saw a few Elises there the other day.

OK, so what is Paul doing these days? I remember back in the 80's at the New Hope Car Show, Paul would be driving a "S" in to show or just as a means for transportation, I can't recall exactly. At the same time Bill Wood would be showing a "S" in the same show. It was a fun weekend show

Speaking of 100-S's

This morning I got a "Holiday Report" from my friend Charles Matthews in England. Charles has recently bought a 100-S and took it on vacation with him.

Here is a snippet from his Email. Charles is in CSJ 725.

"We arrived after an uneventful hours' drive to Heerlen (Belguim) to the hotel where the Healey weekend was based. It was a great event with the usual mix of rally driving during the day; with eating, drinking and swapping stories with fellow Healey friends and enthusiasts in the evenings. We decided to team up for the rallies with Weit Huidekoper who had also brought along his 100S ... we had loads of fun blasting around the small roads and twisty bits, until Weit unfortunately broke a half-shaft which ended his weekend prematurely. My Healey ran faultlessly."

Imagine seeing TWO 100-S's coming at you along a twisty European back road. Then hearing them BLAST past you.

What a sight and sound THAT must be.
