I am a brand new bugeye owner (about a week... though I've had several British sportscars). The car is great and everything works except... I'm in Massachusetts and need to get it inspected. The horn, which worked when I bought it, is not cooperating. (The prior owner was kind enough to tell me it was intermittent.) I have taken out the horn button/push and the little springloaded doohicky. When I shorted out the horn it worked. SO the prob is either the doohicky (which I ordered as mine is cracked) or the button. Both test out OK with continuity test. My major question. There's a copper rivet in center underside of horn push. DOes that need to be in contact with the steering column nut to ground out the connection? My suspicion is that the push isn't seating well and there's no contact. Any good ideas beyond a piece of aluminum foil? Or am I barking up wrong tree?
