TR2/3/3A More small nuts [ and studs!]

Getting on slowly, and collected some used handles. One stud is broken and my efforts to remove are, to date, unsuccessful. Were they cast in when they made the handle, in which case replacement is probably impossible, but if so how do I get the escutcheon off the shaft? ( I have a spare.) seems that the shaft has been notched to keep it all together.

Finally. Have I got more BA2 threads here, and if so is there a source for nuts other than my kind friend with an old MG?

I don’t remember the nut size...

To take apart, you can see the square shaft is dimpled to hold the cup in place. File off the dimples and the cup and spring will slide off. Then the lock assembly and shaft can be easily removed...if you have the correct key??

Of course the main escutcheon is pot metal, so once the stud pulls out I have not had much luck repairing the casting.

thanks, john.

I just found the nut size at the back of parts list: the studs are 10UNF so that is not a problem. I was afraid the studs would be cast in so I shall disassemble and use the spare escutcheon.
