beats my thought of 'get a bigger hammer' ... I didn't wanna be the first person to pipe in on this thread concidering I had suggestions that get the job done properly....

It really is a two man job, the seal is a booger to flatten while trying to maneuver the pillars. Two pieces of stout cord under the seal, from ends to center. Cross them in an "X" in the middle and as the unit is "smushed" pull the ends of the cords from the middle to bring the flap out to it's flat position... all a PITA, and as the unit is pushed down at the ends there is the pillar seal to fiddle with. I've found that LOOSELY inserting the center bolts after getting the middle part of the seal "out" can help keep things in hand. Inserting the bottom bolts in the pillars first is another aid. The center screw at each side (loosened) is the "tool" to move the spacer to align it with the pillar holes. All in all a frustrating job. I'd rather do a clutch replacement or two.

I use wood screws in place of the original machine screws...yep, wood screws...tapered ones...take your screw down tothe hardware store & get wood screws...they'll rethread themselves to fit the threads in the windshield...& because they're tapered, they'll pull the windshield down...then after its on the car, if you want, you can replace them with the correct ones.

Steve, you are right about the frames being the same on all the "B"s but for one thing. The mounting brackets for the sun visors are at a different angle on the later models. I bought new sun visors and they came with the late model mounts. I had to get a pair of good ones from an old windshield to match, as my mounts were worn out.
