TR2/3/3A How do you lift the TR3 engine?

For you TR3/4 owners out there, are there supposed to be any lifting eyes on the engine block? I want to eventually want to put the block on an engine stand and don't see any lifting eyes like there are on my TR6 engine. I guess I could rig a sling underneath the block, or is there a better way?

I pulled my motor a few months back. On the rear, there should be a bracket on the passenger side of the head, near the heater valve. On the front, I don't recall what I tied onto, but it was pretty obvious.

What about bolting on a sturdy bolt on the front of the engine and i the rear in opposite corners? I have done this with SBC's and there have been no issues, However I do have the eye's for the Sports 6.
If I didnt come across well enough I can post a pic.

Bill, there should be a bracket at the back under the head nut and connected to the closest manifold stud and on the front there should be a lifting eye bolted to the top of the timing cover/front engine plate. In practice they often get removed after installation.

Both parts can be bought used or new from a variety of sources, but Moss is kind enough to have an illustration on the Internet. If you need Triumph part numbers, let me know.

The rear loop is often missing. The front one is usually still in place on the motor.
