LOL!

And speaking of wheels... look what the man in brown delievered while I was making that post! A banjo wheel from a '68-69 Sprite. It fits perfectly! YAY!

PS - Don't laugh at my dash! I'll take it back to stock, I've bought an original dash and gauges. Well... it will look stock except for the steering wheel of course! lol! I always admired those banjo wheels. If it didn't fit, I figured I'd have really nice garage art! lol! And hey, isn't the 8-Track kinda cool!? I was thinking I might put it in my MGB!

Yeah, it's pretty cool! Like I said, I always admired the banjo wheels in the early B's. I also like the fact it's kinda big (15") and the grip is thin. Gives a nice vintage feel. One thing I noticed tho' is that it doesn't have a provision for a horn button in the middle! Oops. Gotta figure that one out. I guess the 68-69 sprites had the horn on the turn signal arm. I dunno!

Edit... I just read in the Horler book that a 68-69 sprite did have a push button horn. Hmmm. I don't know how that will work quite yet.

John - take 'em back to the tire place & have them rebalance them with all the weights on the back side of the wheel....you'll be surprised how much cleaner that looks!

Tony, I didn't know they could do that. I'll have to check it out.

I'm not sure if you can do this with these rims but I have had the weights mounted inside the rim (inside the tire essentially) on my truck. It's a bit more expensive but at least the paint doesn't get hurt.

John, are those rims the riveted ones or the welded ones? I can never tell.

Trevor,

I bought 6 rims on evilbay. 4 were welded, 2 were rivited. I blasted and refinished all 6, but used the welded ones to mount the tires. I'll eventually buy a cheapo tire to mount to one as a spare... can't afford to put a Coker tire in the Cave! LOL!

lol! Yep, plus, tho' I figure I'll drive my bugeye plenty, they will probably dry rot before I wear them out!

Like I said, I just WANTED them. Sure I could have gotten a MUCH cheaper black wall, but I would have regretted it everytime I looked at the tires.
