My '67 Etype suddenly seemed to be running about 20-30 deg too cool over my standard route. So I replaced the temp sensor in intake manifold, same deal, so I boiled some water in pan, put grounded sensor in it and still too cool. So now on to the gauge. I tried to turn the little slots through the back, very hard to turn, but did get some needle movement, but messed it up and now it seems insensitive to temp. So I took it apart and with little drop lubricant got it so the slots would now move more easily, put it back together and no help. Get voltmeter continuity across the contact tabs. Any thoughts? Also any suggestions of rebuild shops. Thanks all
Jay,
P.S. A web site says when looking at back of gauge, R slot sets needle starting point and L range of motion
