Bias Ply Tires

Has anyone used them? Coker has repro bias ply in the original size for my 1967 MGB at 5.60/14, with or without whitewalls.

I have two complete sets of wire wheels, chrome and painted. On the painted wire wheels are a 9 year-old set of Vredestine Sprint+ 165R14 in new condition (essentially no tread wear).

On the chrome wheels are 8 year-old Michelin X's with minimal wear in size 185/70 R14.

I like the look of the skinny/tall original bias ply tires but I wonder how they would drive.

I also wonder if the tires I currently have are safe, they show no signs of cracking and have been stored in the garage since new.

Ray, I would say dont do it, handeling will suck, A good friend just did this with a 53 bent window Porsche, 16" whitewall bias ply the look was cool for a month or 2, now looking for a replacement set, st least you have a spare set of wheels.

You should be able to find a set of higher profile skinny radials.
On your other question, age of the tires, You may / will get differing openions on this But I say use them, INSPECT them for drying, surface cracking ect, and if they check good use them. This tire age thing has gotten popular lately even to the point of some states not passing a tire X years old in safety inspections based on age alone.

I say keep an eye on them and drive them!!
