Anyone using speed bleeders?

I'm curious whether anyone here has experience with these little bleeder screws:

Do they work as described? Any leaking in the "closed" position? Would it be worth the extra $ for the stainless?

I'll need to troubleshoot the brakes when the bugeye arrives and I'm considering this little addition.

Regards,

Bill

Best 35.00 I ever spent!
Yes, they work. I bought the 5 pack that includes the clutch and now all I have to do is hook a hose to it and pump the pedal and watch the bubbles and resivoir. I did notice from a complete rebuild, I had to use a vacumm pump to prime the master or clutch cylinder. But once primed I just pump, dont know how I could have done it with out them!
Just my 2 cents.

I bought a couple off the shelf at Advance Auto for $8. Put one on the slave, worked great. Lost the other (which would have fit a front caliper). I concluded that the slave and fronts are SB3824 (3/8" 24 thread) rear cylinders are SB1428 (1/4" 28 thread). Can't swear to it as I only fitted the slave though.

I don't think you will be disappointed

with the speed bleeders you can change all the hydraulic fluids(brakes & clutch) in your car in under an hour. and that is a maintenance item many people neglect on their cars, so now you will no reason to not change your fluids every year !!!

report back once you get them installed

Somewhere there is a picture of how you make an adapter so you can access the slave bleeder from above on a BUGEYE. As I remember it you attach a brake hose where the bleeder goes on the slave and then fab. a bracket and install a speed bleeder at the end of the hose. Have not done this yet but will. i bought my speed bleeders at NAPA. Paul A in Portland can supply the hose I think.
