Reservations made. Brake job on the FZJ80. (tow vehicle)
New car trailer should be ready tomorrow.
Saturday seems so far away.
I'm looking forward to the Friday night party as much as the track time.
Alan is coming this year and dragging a Cat with him.
Should be more fun than a barrel of monkeys.

Sounds like I dog gone good time. Don't horse around too much and show up late. Remember in racing, no one likes a Cheetah.

It was a ton-o-fun last year.
In an LBC it seems like a step back in time.
This year I think I'll stick one of the cameras on the Caterham.
The girls are going too so the whole weekend should be fun.
Safety is always front and center. Not much faster than parade laps, just enough to let the Walter Mitty out a bit. I drive faster on some of my favorite vacant roads.
:driving:
Very nice place and people. Hey it's S.C., where the motto
is "Smiling faces and beautiful places!".

I don't like hauling a car down a highway. THAT is the time I
have a death grip on the wheel and my eyes back and forth to
those mirrors. "Keep your eyes on the road and your hands upon the wheels!" "Let it roll baby, roll!"
I like to caravan in such situations.
:grouphug:
Safety in numbers.

A in car camera would be cool, that way it can get a good view of the back of my wife's Honda CRV SUV  (Hap driving wife's SUV due to MG being wounded) I fiquired I'd atleast give you guys a fighting chance this year

Met a guy last night at the local car club meeting, he's got a very nice MGB GT with a professionally doen engine transplant, a Miata 1800 engine, used to race Formula Fords, he will be joining us as well this Saturday.

Note, I will give driving lessons in your car with you riding shotgun if desired

Desired? Who you kidding? Just promise you'll try not to hurt Mimi and she's yours for some laps. It sure would be nice to actually see a proper line taken.
That was my one disappointment last year. I never was able to
observe a pro's line around a course. I just had to go by the
seat of my pants. It was fun but I'd love to pick up some tips.
How about start pace laps with you at the wheel and we set the
in-car camera up on the rollbar?
An instructional video, if you will.
Hap's line around CMP with a clear track.
Lynn will be set up at the grassy knoll for stills and
external video as well.

At least that way we won't be humiliated by a Honda CRV.
:jester:
Anyway, just know the seat of your choice is open.

If ya can get yer fat arse in it.

CDs may be available on request. If I can figure out
how to do it.

I'll post shorts on Youtube on my oldschoolcruiser
channel.

Alan may follow for a while in the second run with the camera
on his Cat's roll bar to see if I can follow up on Hap's
lesson. No laughing...please.
:jester:

At least that's da plan so far.

the boy ain't right

Holy crap my pants. I just thought I had been flogging
ol Screamin' Mimi.
Riding around a track with Hap at the wheel is something
I'll never forget. And, he WASN'T racing. Geesh.. the
boy ain't right!
No video can do it justice. Hap...you Da Man!
I learned a whole lot but it will take me a while to be
able to put it in practice. Quite an eye opener.
Very humbling experience. I gained a new found respect
for what a Sprite can do in skilled hands.
Videos soon. Stay tuned.
Great group of guys and gals. Wonderful event. Very unique
experience.

Thanks! It's still running rich. Hap swears he's going to
help me get the carbs all sweet.

He was grinning big time when he passed in a curvy section.
Me too.
You can probably tell I'm grinning like a Cheshire cat the whole time.
Well...except when I got it a bit....loose.
Let's just say the adhesion limits did get reached.

I'll have more shorts up over the next couple of days.
I still need to work on the footage from Alan's Caterham
chasing us.
Just a great time spent with fine people.

Howdy David & Hap,

Cool Videos! I see Hap smiling "Ear to Ear" but "Whats the "Watery" stuff dripping off your forehead David? Wass it raining or is that just simply "Sweating Bullets"!!

I`d bet Hap wished Fred was there so They can see who is the Better Driver!

We should get commentary back on that statement!!

Man; I wish I were there. "Next Year for Sure"!

Russ

PS: Hey David, Really nice Trailer! Could I borrow it to move my TR3 around shortly?
