We just replaced the bearings in the rear outer axles. The guy that pressed the hubs off bent one, and the other was close. I had an extra hub for the bent one, so proceeded to put everything back together. Testing with a dial indicator shows that the other hub was about 12 thousands out of round. Put the wheel on and you can notice the vibration when running at 25mph. (Car up on jacks). My friend is going to test the vibration out on the road today to see if it is noticeable.
Since this is on the rear, will it cause any damage anywhere?
Do you think I can chuck the hub into a lathe and flatten it out again?
Any other suggestions. I am going to look in my barn today and see if I have another hub also.
