Later drum backing plates - hub not clearing

I am converting the rear drums on my Frogeye to the later twin-piston wheel cylinders, and so using the later backing plates. Wondering if anyone has had issues with the hubs catching the wheel cylinders where the wheel studs are mounted on the hub. Do I need to take a little off these points or is there a more elegant solution?
Is it related that when the hub nuts are tightened, the hub is difficult to turn?

I don't remember that issue when I converted my last Bugeye. I've had some issue with new drums rubbing, but not with the hubs catching the wheel cylinders.

Are you using a Circlip Tool to attach that circlip which is a total PITA to get to work or trying to use a different method for pulling the wheel cylinder in tight i.e. Wavy Washer. Perhaps the Wheel Cylinder is not securely attached and pulled tight. The Circlip Tool is an expensive tool for a one time use but it turns a bastard of a job with lots of busted knuckles and 4 letter words into a < 5 minute job with absolutely no drama. If the wheel cylinder is not inserted correctly I see where it could rub. Either that or you were sent the wrong wheel cylinder. Should be a 3/4" wheel cylinder from MOSS Lockheed 3/4" Part # 180385 $31.99. I have not used the other Wheel Cylinder Listed 180-386 Wheel Cylinder 3/4" Aftermarket. $10.99. I know the 3/4" Lockheed fits Bugsy with no Hub interference.
