XJS V12 Cruise Control

I keep losing my Cruise Control. The rod that leads from the throttle linkage to a bracket forward keep jumping out of the bracket. It feeds through a rubber bushing which fited in a slot in the bracket but there is no way to secure the bushing in the slot. Could I be missing a piece? I did try to secure it with a nylon tie but the rod and bushing puled out leaving the tie on the slot. I have several manuals and CD ROM Manuals but I can not find any info

Have you looked in the parts catalog in your local Jaguar dealership? Could be you have a broken (or missing) fastener.

Are you talking about the cable that connects to the bellows, where it attaches at the pedal end? The Cable appears to connect to a short rod that connects to a bell crank. I need to replace the cable, but have not figured out how to reach it yet.

Get a dental mirror and a flashlight. Take out the driver's seat. Look at the shaft closely. The parts book says that there is a cotter pin hole. The lever is coming off because you may be missing the cotter pin. There are several cotter pins at several points. Without the pins, the rod will not stay on.
