Transmission cover BN2

Hi folks,

I am looking for a usable transmission cover for my BN2. Has anybody a spare one? My other idea is to fit a gearbox cover from a later BN4 / BN6 which are far more easy to get. Has someone an idea if this would fit my car? What kind of modifications do I have to make?

Thanks

Thomas

Unfortunately the above source can not help me in my quest. :-(.

Anybody out there who can advise me how to fit that BN4/BN6 cover to my BN2

thomas, seeing how only about 3500 of your model had ever been built its not going to be easy to find an original i know there is a fiberglass repro. of the one for late 100-6, bj7"and bj8"s in fact i have one in my car. it has a good noise deadening quality and keeps the trans. heat out very well for me, im thinking you should be able to modify the configuration to fit your car they cost less then $100.00 u.s. call 1(203)-655-8731, thats where i bought mine. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/savewave.gif

Thomas--

I used the Moss fiberglass 6-cylinder tunnel when I installed the Toyota five-spped in my BN1. I don't know the dimensions of the BN2 transmission but if it is no bigger than a six you should certainly be able to use this tunnel. It required a bit of shortening but wound up fitting very well.

Thanks for the the info!! I will contact bmc classics for an original BN2, which, obviously, would be my first choice.

As the BN2 Gearbox is dimensionally the same as the later BN6 gearboxes, I assume that the fiberglass-cover should fit apart from some shortening on the back.

I will keep you posted how things will turn out...

regards

Thomas
