TR2/3/3A TR3 Drain Tubes

Does anyone know the sizes [inside diameter] of the drain tubes to drain the trunk and front vent areas of the TR3.

Hi Greg, they are both the same size, .534 OD and .345 ID. I tried to buy mine locally and was not able to, so ended up buying from TRF. If you live in a larger town you might be able to find them.

Macy's Garage sells a three piece set: 2 boot drains and a battery box drain for $3.95
Drain tube link takes you right to it.

The hose for the drain from the cool air vent looks a little short in Mark Macy's photo.

The drain for the vent in my 1958 TR3A comes out here.

I think that is because it is the battery box drain right? It would then drain out through the transmission tunnel cover. I'm surprised Mark doesn't include the scuttle drain too in that kit - are they different hose sizes?

You may find they mainly sell the clear tubing. You might try the parts counter at your auto parts store for the black tubing by the foot.

Is that correct? In the pic it seems that would potentially be dumping water on a hot exhaust pipe, starter or brake-light switch.(At least based on the layout of my 59)

Seems to be the accepted place for it; although at least one of my cars has come to me with it tee'd into the battery box drain instead. All those things you mention will get wet anyway, if you drive in the rain.
