I just recently bought the TR3A set they have. I don't know how the TR6 price comparison works, but I got the front bumper, overriders, and rear (ha, ha) "bumperettes" for less than all that would have cost me for chromed *on SALE* at any of the "Big Three" -- and they're stainless!
I hadn't planned to buy bumpers yet. I was just going to put the mangled originals back on "'til later." But at that price, I felt compelled to go for it.

They are easy to deal with.

How do they look compared to chrome?

They are shiny and bright. Stainless is always a little "grayer" than chrome when compared side-by-side. You <span style="font-style: italic">might</span> be able to tell the difference if you were parked in one of those car show line-ups. But, without a show car parked right next door, they look just great.

They claimed "just like stock," however, they didn't come with the holes for installing badge bars that the stock ones have. No problem for me... I'm not going to the Concours with this car, nor planning to use badge bars. If I were, though, it wouldn't be that big a deal to drill 'em.

I'd be interested in that info also as both my front and rear bumpers need rechroming plus the front needs to have a crumple repaired.

Mine cost $1,200 a year and a half ago.

There were no dents, but they welded in plates where the rear over riders fit on the rear bumper. You can't find where the slots were, either on the inside or outside. They did a beautiful job.

They also welded nuts in the back of the front bumper to allow easy on and off with that, should I ever have to install it.

The front license frame was an additional $150 at another shop.

I don't know what the cost is today, but I may find out next week, as I have some other stuff to be done.

i thought it was interesting that they painted the back black. i haven't done much research on bumper rechroming or other options, but is that something that someone would want or look for? or did they just not want to polish the backside? frankly, i wouldn't care one way or another.

Did you mean on mine or the SS bumpers? If the pictures look that way from mine it is an illusion or poor lighting. They are not painted, but are lightly plated after being buffed smooth.

And no, it is not a stupid question. I did not go to one plater here in NE because the backs of his jobs still had rust showing after one of my friends picked his up as being finished.
