Installing front fender stainless steel beading

Hey y'all,
I've managed to get the rear fender beading replaced on my
BJ8 without too much profanity although I stand corrected,
that is why British Leyland went under, installing the fender
beading on Austin HEaley's surely drove their unions to
total insanity ! Anyway, now that I am moving onto the
front fenders how in the world do you get to the fender
bolts that are hidden/covered by the inner fender wells ?
I can get to the first couple of bolts near the headlight
and the last one by the door jam, but how do I access the
others ? I am sure there is a simple answer but it escapes
me and my 61 year old eyeballs. Appreciate any advice or
help !
Regards,
Mike

You need someone with little hands, perhaps a very long extension and they have to bend over the top of the fender and stick their hands way in under the fender to get the bolts.

Hi Mike,

1. A wing cover.
2. Bending over the wing, inserting your arm/hand and use a spaner or socket.
3. Patience and persistance.
4. Congradulations you did it.

Good luck,
Roger

Hi Mike, I have been messing with those bolts for quite awhile now since I am reconstructing my fenders and have had them on and off many times now in the last month. There are two bolts inside the cockpit that can be had with socket and extension or just open end wrench. The ones in the middle area of the fender will be reached thru the bonnet openning. I must adjust my bifoggles further down on my nose to focus on them or just reach them blindly. I have actually found it best to get my hand and arm in there to get the threads started and once in that position I can turn them in with a open end wrench. But also at times I have used sockets and extensions and swivels.

Hey Y'all,
Thanks for the info. Like Vette, I'll need to put bifocals on my bifocals to
see anything so I'll do it by touch. Glad to know they are reachable
and if you hear any loud swearing, I've barked another knuckle or something
and marking my territory with some blood.
Thanks,
Mike
