I am rebuilding the front suspension on my TR4 (and I'm ... almost... done!). Upon dissassembly on the starboard side I observed the outer wheel bearing inner race had spun on the stub axle. I obtained a Stub Axle (5-4019) and outer wheel Bearing (5-731) from Victoria British. (I was ordering another part as well so went with this supplier for these parts). I had the old Stub removed from the vertical link and installed the new Stub. I reassembled the suspension. Upon installing and packing the new outer wheel bearing I had a problem getting the outer bearing to go on the Stub axle.. Hmmm. I mic'd the Stub and it looks close to 15.9mm. I measured the inner diameter of the wheel bearing to be 15.8mm. The old inner race measures 15.8mm also. The Port side stub looks to be 15.8mm but that might be worn? I've done a few wheel bearings in my life but I never remember an interference fit??? I'll be making some phone calls to suppliers tomorrow to inquire about this but I figured a post might help. Perhaps another supplier quality issue? Has anyone had a similar problem like this or do I have a bad part? I do not want to force this on without further reasearch. Any insight would help.. Thanks
