I just wanted to sing the praises of the nice folks at Triple C. They did a great favor for me yesterday. Here's the story. As I have posted before, my girlfriend is a huge LBC fanatic, and she turns 30 on Sunday. I bought her a nice 1971 TR6 driver (with overdrive -- I'm *very* jealous), and had made arrangements a month in advance to have the car picked up using a transport service my dad and I have used for years. Without going into the details, the transport service totally dropped the ball, despite numerous promises that they would get the Triumph to me on or before her birthday. So, here I am, with a huge birthday present for a huge milestone birthday, but the present itself has yet to arrive.
Anyway, I start coming up with ideas, and I discover that ERTL makes a very nice 1/18 scale BRG early TR6. I figure I'll pick this up, wrap it with a key fob that I already bought, and the license plate I already have (yes, the DMV was more efficient than the transport company). The only place I find that has it in stock is Triple C. Unfortunately, all of this took place after UPS had done their pickup. I related my tale, and the great folks at Triple C packaged up the TR6 model, and made a separate trip to the local UPS store to make sure that it got to me today.
Just some praise for their personal touch.
