I have a 1959, 100-6, it came with two 3000 motors in states of dis-repair and what looks like 100-6 accessorys.
Both motors are 29K models with a low 6000 number. (BJ8's)
I ordered a clutch kit from Vicki B, for the 29K motor.
In checking the flywheel and the new clutch I find that the bolt pattern is the same, but I think the flywheel is for a 100-6. It has two metal alignment studs for the clutch housing. This fits the old spring type clutch housing. However the new diaphragm housing has a stud right by one of the joint or elbow looking things in the housing opening.
(sorry have no idea what its called) If this elbow/joint/knee thing moves it will hit the stud.
The diaphragm clutch housing is also 1/4 inch less from the flywheel to the top of the release plate, then the old spring type clutch housing. (Total width of the housing to relase plate)
Should I grind that stud down, bolt it together and not worry about it, or do I need a 29K flywheel, or a different clutch housing???
I have what I think is the newer transmission with O/D and the clutch plate fits the shaft without problems.
Thanks for your help.......
