I am restoring a 64 BJ8. Today I was doing a trial fit of the fenders in the back, also known a quarter panels. Seems to be two different types of screws used to attach them. Sheet metal screws with a wide spiral and machine screws? Starting from the door, the first sheet metal screw gets screwed from the inside of the car, through to the fender. Seems that the next two screws, which seem to be machine screws, get screwed from inside the fender and into the body? Reason I ask is because there seems to be nuts held in place by a perimiter that is welded to the body. When I took the car apart, there were no screws there. Is this true, should there be two machine screws there attaching the fenders to the body?
