Turn signals and hazard lights...

Ok. So in replacing my interior (which I'm happy to say is done), I cut out the center consul that houses the radio, hazard switch, etc. I don't want to put it back. I understand that the turn signals are routed through the hazard switch. Do I have any other options or do I need that hazard switch there? Thanks.

I don't see why you wouldn't be able to relocate the hazard switch to a different location. It's just a matter of figuring out where you want it and making sure you have enough wire to put it there.

My hazard lights don't work... so if I accidentally have the hazard light switch set to 'on', I don't have turn signals. The turn signals work if the hazards are off.

Frankly, all lights other than the beams and dash are overrated /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

AFAIK, the hazard switch overrides the turn signals in all cars i.e. with the hazards on, turn signals won't go...Are you sure this isn't normal behaviour? Also, how does one 'accidentally' leave the hazards on? Can't you see 'em blinking on the internal indicators?! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

i drove mine around for quite a while with that whole wire bundle stuffed up in the glove box. It wasnt till i put in a cd player that i put the console back in. power does run thru the hazz switch. and your turn signals wont work when the hazzards are on, but if your turns dont work thats the first place to check.

i wonder if thse switches would fit in those spots in the plastic cowl under the turn and wiper stalks??

Hehe there's the beauty of it... my hazards operate exactly the same (not at all) whether the switch is on or off. The gentle ticking and dim flicker of the turn signals against the engine noise and California sunshine provide me with very little evidence as to whether THEY work or not (they do) unless I'm in the dark, and can see them working.

My two year old loves nothing more than leaping into Daddy's car and attempting to break ervery switch, knob and lever as quickly as possible... thus, if I forget to check the position of the hazard switch, my turn signals are a crapshoot... if he left it on, no turn signal. If it's off, I'm in good shape. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hammer.gif
