TR2/3/3A Front Turn Signals on TR3B grill

I was working on removing my grill, and I for the life of me cannot figure how to remove the two turn signal lights from the grill. There are screws coming through the back of the grill, but no access to the screw heads. I could not find instructions in my Haynes manual, and do not want to take the chance of breaking them as my right turn signal is already loose as the brackets on the light behind the grill are cracked. HELP!!!

I wanted to fit and install a new grill before Das Awkscht Fescht in Macungie over the first weekend in August.

Carefully peel back (with a small flat-blade screwdriver or similar) the rubber until you can get it under the chromed rim. It will then pull out of the rubber body, after which you should be able to pull on and remove the glass lens. Then you'll see the three screw heads!

Dave - Andy beat me to it. Do what he says!

A word of caution: if that rubber body is in poor condition, the gripping edge may crack when you work on it. If so, it'll be tough to replace the dome and trim, which may fall out if the rubber fails.

A replacement might be in order.

I got it all apart fine, but most of the lock clips for holding the turn signal mounting onto the grill were broken or missing, which is why the one was loose. I will be ordering new hardware from TRF before I try to reassemble this. Why does a simple job like this always take multiple days???

Because you didn't have a box of the appropriate spire nuts on hand.

:iagree: It's really irritating to brush by and have one of those lenses fall out and break. New rubbers are much cheaper then new lenses.
