Tonneau Cover Bar [1960 BT-7]

Can anyone point me in the correct cirection? I have a '60 BT-7 that is in need of a tonneau cover bar. the inside diameter of the bar opening in the automobile is 1/2". The bar secured from a reputable parts dealer, said to be for BT-7 application, is 5/8" outside diameter. For a silly 1/8" I am still without a bar that fits. Any ideas?

I just checked my bar. It's 5/8" OD. Maybe you should attache a photo so we can see what you are measuring.

Just measured mine for a BJ7 - 5/8" O/D as near as can be. I assume that all bars were the same O/D, but could be wrong. Therefore, as I see it, you have three choices - double check the spec for the bar on your car, change the hole in the car, or cut down the ends of the bar to suit and fit a 1/2" piece of tube or solid bar inside, using epoxy and possibly a screw for added security.

Seems I've been trying to slip the tonneau bar in the incorrect holes. I am now using the holes for the top bows and everything seems to work.
As a reward, I am now sipping on an Old Speckled Hen.

indeed it is; however, my all-time favorite is Fullers ESB, on the handle, at the Audley Pub in Mayfair. The Mudlark at Blackfriars serves up a mean pint as well.

You have only scratched the surface of the amazing beers that GB has to offer up and down the country, there are now small micro breweries producing excellent stuff all over the place.
