throttle linkage/cable

Has anyone installed the throttle cable conversion from Cape
International? I have seen something similar on 100 competition/race
cars, but I am not sure how to secure the kit at the accelerator pedal
end of things for my 60 BT7. No directions provided with kit! If anyone
has done this and could email a digital photo I would appreciate the
help. Thanks.

Lin,
I considered trying the Cape cable conversion But decided against it for now, due to the questions about how to mount the lower end. As you know, this location is not easy to get at with the engine in the car. I really haven't found any insurmountable problems with the stock set up. Let us know how you come out on the project & how you like it.

I don't think I would do it either if my engine was in the car, but I am in the middle of a total restoration and the engine bay is open It seemed that now was the time to look at the possibility. Our bugeye, of course, uses a cable to the throttle and it just seems so much easier.

Why do you suppose the Healeys used a cable on one car (Bugeye) and the complicated mechanical linkage on the other?

I suspect that the Frogeye was made down to a price, whereas the Big Healeys design came through from the earlier 100/4's etc and to do a re-design would cost money.
