Got to be something simple if you have fire on 1 and 4. Got to be the cap or wire's. Are they solid or carbon wires in original cap's?

Kurt.

How do you know they have no spark?
Is this a cap with push on wires or wires fixed by a set screw?

Well with car running I can pull 2 and 3 wires and no change. I'll be bringing my spark tester home tonight.

That doesn't always mean no spark. It could mean sparking at the wrong time, or not enough fuel, or not enough compression, etc.

Did you double check your firing order 1342?

solid wires victoria cap. Just ordered lucas cap, rotor and wires.

NO, not Lucas. They"re generally now from India, and use Carbon, of all things, to make them black... get the RED ones from Jeff at Advanced Distributor.

Please do not take offense at the following.

As an extension to Trevor's comments, are the spark plug wires going counterclockwise around the cap? If you put the wires on clockwise, then 2 & 3 will fire180 degrees out which would make those cylinders appear "dead".

Yeah, they go in the other direction too. :jester:

Can't tell you how many times I've done that.

Better yet, put the cap back on with no rotor...

I have forgotten the rotor more times than I will admit. My worst/dumbest/oh-no mistake was forgetting to turn "off" the kill switch I had installed in one car. I spent half an hour trying to figure out why I had no spark before I remembered the switch.

I think it's the wires. I can pull 2 and 3 off and just barely place the boots on the plug and it starts to even out. put them back on and nada.
