First of all, happy New Year to you all!
I finally got some time to work on the wife's '78Midget again with parts I bought this summer. I was recently and unfortunately laid off from my job due to the economy, so I have the time--double edged sword...! Anyway, I am replacing just the seat foam on both seats using VB replacement foam. I did the bottoms, easy enough although the diaphragms..uhhhggg!
With the bottoms, I took the old diaphragms off and just pulled the old foam cushion out and replaced them both.
Now I am looking at the seat backs, they look a little more complicated, and decided to ask here before jumping in.
I'm wondering what is the best way to do them? Do I need to take the seat back adjusting lever off, then I see two clips on each seat "side" at the bottom, remove them as well, and the cover slips (hah!)off?
Is there more to it, and if so, what else do I need to do? Any special tools required, or things to watch out for?
For putting the cover back on I've read here the recommendation to use plastic bags to help the cover slide on, which I plan to do.
Thanks, and again, happy New Year!
