Oh yes, I've fitted one into my diff. no problem, one out & one in. Makes for better high speed cruising. Had to change the speedo though, I think it was an MGA speedo inners I used. I found info on this forum somewhere.

That is awesome. Thank you. Another diff question. How can you tell what is normal wear on the gears? Mine was humming and took it apart. Seems like the one pinion bearing is the issue, but I don't want to buy $100.00 plus in new bearing only to find I still have an issue. It shows slight markings, but no heavy marks- I know, hard to tell in words.

errrr.... yes a little hard to tell by mail. I just looked for backlash & I guess I was lucky with my 3.7:1 off fleabay. Sounds worn out but wait for others to chip in. (I presume it had oil in it)?
The same diff was used in a 1500 Riley but you probably didn't get these in USA.

I think I'm going to have the local machine shop look at the crown and pinion and see if they think it normal wear or the cause of the HUM. I see Moss sells the 3.7 gear set. If I need them will the 3.7 bolt up to the 3.9 cage that I have? Thanks, Shawn

Well the machine shop didn't know. If I rub a screw driver across the worn section on the crown and pinion you can feel a little roughness. Would this cause it to HUM?
