Brake and Hydraulic lines

Happy 4th to all us USA types out there.

I have been involved in a MAJOR back yard refurbishing project, about 3 weeks worth, long time coming and HAD to be done. Ready to go back to the car!

Body is still off the frame. Should I start installing the brake lines before I put the body on? Seems like twould be a bunch easier to do it now. What's the thoughts out there? 60 TR3 by the way.

Thanks, Tinkerman

Do EVERYTHING possible while the body is off the car. It will be SO MUCH easier. Besides the brake lines, fit the fuel lines and exhaust. Do any differential and axle work that needs to be done. Brakes, front suspension, rear springs-bushings etc. E-brake cables, even the e-brake handle itself is easier to put on with the body off. The body will go over it if it's in the pulled back position.

Just went through that yesterday. The way my exhaust downpipe is bent, it had to be removed to get at the nylock nut on the handbrake pivot. (grrrrr) I had been thinking I might leave the handbrake off, to avoid the increased amount of aim it requires when dropping the tub on. But it's on now, and it's staying.

Who wants to come over to my place for beers and body tub lifting?

I'd be there in an eyeblink but for the trek. :wall:
