The thing I love about LBC's is how just when you think you can go for a drive, something else plays up. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif
Anyhow,I have the problem of back firing etc.,The fuel filter was clogged with gunk,I've changed that. What I'd like to know is -- can you clear the carburetor without taking it off and dismantling it? (Zenith)

I'm curious what kind of answers you're going to get on this. My 77 Midget ran differently every time I turned the key! I swapped out the old zs for a Weber, and what a difference . Food for thought..................... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/england.gif

Sometimes if it is sputtering you can just put your hand over the end of the carb and stall it out.

This sucks the fuel out of the bowl forcefully....Sometimes this clears the hair ball.

Be advised.....Gas will go all over your hand.

Thanks for the tip. I checked the timing after I changed the fuel filter and it is okay.
The problem was resolved when I cleared the blockages in the absorption canisters and the hoses linking them together.(charcoal)
