Autoist list of MG owners?

The Autoist used to maintain a list of MG owners who would lend a hand to others in need.
Has this gone away or does anyone have a copy?

Has anyone tried to find a place to host it online so we can use it when we are out and about traveling in our little cars?

I have a personal website that I'd be glad to put it on, unless someone has a better idea.

I'm happy to be on the list (don't think I am) but would not be happy about it being openly posted, particularly as there will be times it is. Evident no one will be home.

Actually, this ought to be extended to ALL British cars. Anyone game to get this off the ground? Let's talk...

I'm hoping to get Tony's Autoist site (which I have on my local computer) back online in the not too distant future, but the family isn't quite ready yet. Once I get the green light, I'll put it back online. The List is something that I'd recommend some secure method as it is a supremely bad idea to openly publish people's personal data - well intentioned as that migh be. And I had told Tony as much. Had he lived and had I completed the switch to my server fir his site, we had discussed cowing up with a more secure way to do it.

I think that is an excellent idea!

I would be willing to be on such a list, it is a little bit of a conundrumm figuring out how to make it available and useful to LBC owners but maybe not overly open and available to the public, I know clubs have published lists, I guess if someone wanted to they could figure out who I was, where I lived, what car I drove pretty easily, but I don't know if I want to put it on a list on the net for all the world to see.

My thoughts, exactly.

The North American MGB Register publishes as Mutual Aid Directory every year.

This year, it also included GoF West members, the NEMGTR members, the AMGCR members, and a few NAMGAR members.

Join NAMGBR...this driver's handbook-sized publication comes with your membership.

I think there's a more pro-active way.

I like Mickey's idea. All little British cars.... After all, they shared so many common parts, not to mention common problems. Learn to fix one, you pretty much know how to fix 'em all!

Definitely a very bad idea to post everyone's info online. Even with a password it isn't exactly safe. The average web site security takes about three minutes to bypass by a middle school student.

Always assume that whatever you type into a computer will be seen by someone you don't know, and you will keep out of trouble. These days you even have to worry about someone holding the file with your info on their home computer.

That said, I do have such a list on one of my web sites behind a password, but those people knew exactly where it was going before they submitted their info.

People traveling to Midget 50th this summer need the List.
It's just the kind of reason that Tony created it for.
