Accompanied a buddy to Morganton yesterday afternoon to look at a B. Out in the country we found a very nice guy who actually had two roadsters sitting in his driveway. One is a 71 and the other a 70 and both are in need of a great deal of work. I could go on and on about the cars but we have all seen them. They are the ones that just sit there with the tops deteriorating and water collecting in the cockpit and trunk. Anyway, the guy as usual had stars in his eyes and dreams in his head and the realization of what he had for sale didn't seem to sink in completely when the more obvious faults were pointed out. If only we could have gotten to these cars earlier on, when things hadn't gone so bad perhaps they could have been saved more easily and a realistic sales price agreed to. In the end though these two will probably just sit there until one day he decides to just call the crusher. Sad, but all too often these LBCs meet such a fate.
What's my point? I don't really know except that it struck me once again that it is a real shame to see these things pass on into the mist.
BTW: Down behind the barn were four TR7s, one a convertible with a V6 GM engine in it. They too were wasting away and would most likely end up in the end of a hook.
