TR2/3/3A RULE#1 Never throw anything away

Exactly 1 year ago I cut a piece of sheet metal off my car that had a little bracket welded to it and I had read about it and knew it was important and would be welded on down the road. I have spent the last week searching for the little piece that was cut off. I had thought it was in my tool box for safe keeping. Several searches thru the tool box and no luck. Scoured the entire shop ,no luck. I have 2 cardboard boxes with every rusty piece that has been cut off, several searches thru the boxes no luck, searches thru parts bins, no luck. Today another try thru the rusty cut off pieces an success. The piece I was looking for was found but not in as good a shape as I thought so a new one has been made and will be in a future post once it is welded on. I will follow Karls lead and see if anyone recognizes the very small bracket.

I still have all my rusty parts that were ut off during restoration. I have taken some bits to shows to illustrate what condition the car was in when I started.

WAs going to say I know that part. Someone here spotted it on one of my photos. I had not realized what it was for.
