1989 xj6 warnings

I've got a 1989 xj6 with several warnings coming on the screen.

1. circuit 1 failure
2. circuit 3 failure
3. bulb failure
4. low break pressure
5. anti-lock failure
6. power fluid low

1. Circuit 1 Failure(I think) My right running light, right license tag light, and right light on the side bumper do not light up. Could this be from corrosion in the relay box? I tried to uncover the box, but found it to be too difficult, and wanted to know more before I proceed.

2. Circuit 3 Failure(I think because this one is new) I just removed my mineral oil reservoir, and it may not be properly reconnected to the electronic switch.

3. Bulb failure, caused by what I believe to be the circuit 1 failure.

4./5. Low Break Pressure/Anti-lock Failure, As previously stated, I had a leak in my mineral oil reservoir, and I now believe it to be fixed. Their was another type of brown/reddish liquid in the reservoir. Could this be the root of my problem, will it work itself out of the system. I believe I need a new brake accumulator, how important is it to have a functioning one on a scale from 1-10? Right now, my brakes are a bit hard to press, but considerably lighter since the fixing of my mineral oil reservoir.

6. Power Fluid Low, my power steering fluid is fine, is their another type of power fluid I am unaware of, or is my sensor just broken.

Thanks for the help

I recently sold an XJ6 that had the exact same warning faults...some Jag Guru on the net told us it was a board problem...real common. Don't know if the buyer ever got it looked at or not...

Circuit 1 failure is a blown fuse in the box by the RH door post. C3 is in the center console. Test the fuses and replace as reqd. Bulb failure is REALLY common on these cars. Usually it is the rear failure units (Black boxes attached by rear lamps under trunk side carpet)Sometimes the failure is bad solder joints from the many components inside You can try to re solder all the joints and see what happens. Otherwise, each box has a part number on it. Try a junkyard, and look for boxes that have a higher number. The last version has 5 digits (DAC XXXXX) or something similar. Low power fluid is the mineral oil reservoir. Low brake pressure can be the accumulator, or a malfunctioning charge switch preventing it from charging.Antilock failure *could* be caused by one of the blown fuses, but more likely is a bad wheel speed sensor. Mostly the rears go bad, because of the dissimilar metals of the hub and sensor causing corrosion which eventually crushes the sensor. I have however found bad ones right out of the box.

Good luck.

Thank you for that insight. Tomorrow, I will go and pick up more mineral oil. I must have bought 5 litres while trying to fix my previous leak. How many litres should it take to fill my reservoir?
