Spitfire Two very different 1972 Spitfires....help!

OK folks, a newbie needs some clarification here.

1972 FK 33128 U has trans reverse upper right, must pull up, 3 piece
dash, ignition on column, horn is a push in lever on left of column,
no Mark IV insigna and a large area on front bumper for a license
plate. Antenna is on drivers side rear fender.

1972 FK 29125 L has trans reverse in upper left pattern, one piece
dash, ignition on dash, horn in center of steering wheel, a Mark IV
insigna on both rear fenders and no large license plate area on front
bumper. Also has Triumph stamped in rear bumper and antenna on
passenger side front fender.

Now, how come all these differences and will the hood interchange?
Both are suppose to be 1972's and both are now in my yard and I am a
little confused as to all these very apparent differences. Somebody

Well......at least I can assure you that you can interchange the hoods. This is really interesting, I would suggest that the car with the three-part dash is either a transition car of some kind, or a previous owner has used parts from an earlier model.

Is it possible that one of these cars could be a UK model?

Anything is possible here.....one VIN ends in U and one in L.
