Very nice Jensen Healey on eBay

Someone needs to snatch this one up! I've fallen in "lust" with these cars since I had the opportunity to drive one last summer.

Very nice, well balanced, high revving engine. And, it has ROOM for tall drivers! I was pleasantly surprised at how much room there was in the cockpit, unlike most LBCs.

This is a real deal, I hope one of you BCF'ers gets her.

I have a BRG and a Black Jensen Healey, both have gold J-H graphics along the sill. That red/white combination just doesn't work for me. Maybe if it had no graphics it would look better.

That JH is probably one of the most original ones I've seen in a VERY LONG time.

The only thing I could find that wasn't original to the car is the brake master cylinder. It's been replaced with a TR6 MC as the original MCs are no longer available.

Short of the silly trim strip along the side (dealer installed option) it's a very pretty and original car.

With a starting bid of $5,200 and a reserve price I'll be suprised if it sells. A really nice stock JH could get $7-8K at best in a good economy.

I've got it on my watch list, out of curiosity. I'm with Jody and his assessment and wait and see.

I'm thinking that this guy is looking for way over 10k for this car.. Just a feeling by reading the discription. I'll bet his reserve is somewhere around 12k. Anyone else hazard a guess?.

That sounds about right. And it'd be a fair price if they had anywhere near the demand of an MG/Triumph of the same time period. Mechanically it's a far superior car to it's brethren of the same time period.

But with production figures of ~9000 and a very high price tag when new, paired with a lot of development issues with the early 907 motor, people either don't know what it is, never got to experience them, or think they're rubbish.

A shame really.

Same with the TR8. Fantastic cars that never had a chance. :frown:

Another handicap is the year of this car. IIRC, the later years were fitted with a five speed.

That's more of a 6 of one, half-dozen of the other type deals.

For normal driving the 4 is actually nicer to drive. The 5 is good for more race-like use. They both have the same limiting factor. Top gear is a 1:1 ratio. Back when they were still available (a few years back) a popular modification was to put a supra transmission kit in to get a proper top gear.

That was a reason I didn't put a 5-cog into the +2... end up with a 1:1 top gear? feh. Not worth the effort.

Still have the five speed sittin' in th' shed.
