All the lights and gauges were out on my friends MGB...he hit a bump and all the electrical was restored. Is there a main ground somewhere on the frame that would cause this?

Check the fuse block itself....most Lucas problems are in connections - start there.

As tony said the fuse box. I went through this bringing back my 73 to life. Clean up every contact on that box and it should fix the problem.

"ScotchBrite" is your friend! Non metallic (non-conductive) and will clean electrical contacts shiny-new.

Has anyone ever used 'Stabilant-22'? It's supposed to be the BEST stuff out there.

I want to clean everything that has an electrical connection. The gurus here believe that if you can get the electrical stuff in order the MG is a pretty reliable car.

That stuff is expensive and there are a lot of video and sound recording studios that use it on all their connections to improve signal-to-noise ratios and reduce harmonic distortion. A lot if not all military electronic techs have it in their kits since it is now available to them under a Federal Stock Number and endorsed by all the component/box suppliers, all Xerox service techs, all IBM mainframe computer service techs, etc.

The above info came from another site that I belong to. I'm just curious if anyone has used it?

Hello all,

strange?, I thought I had replied before on this post, but it's not there.

Anyway, I asked if the lights on an MGB are fused as that is not common on British cars of that era?

Stabilant can be found at Radio Shack stores. It goes on a cleaned connector terminal, then coat the connected terminal housing with dielectric grease and you're better than factory as far as connections go.

Hmm, used to be, just walked in and went back to the part where all the electronic components and tools were. May have to go to an outside electronic store.

Look under orders. They sell single piece online at retail prices.

Reviews are interesting as well...model railroader's favorite!
