Then again, I may be wrong.

I'll go with "coach-built" but wonder if it's large enough to be a Bentley or R-R? I was thinking more along the lines of a Swallow-bodied (Jaguar? Standard?) something or other.

I wish there were a wee bit more showing; what I see looks like a pretty darned stylish motorcar!

My guess is along similar lines. Too big for a Standard, I am thinking pre-WW2 or immediate post-war. I would suggest either an SS Jaguar (pre-war), or a Jaguar 2 1/2 litre sedan.

I may have posted the photo long ago. I couldn't remember so I just posted it now. It doesn't look like a large car. At first it reminded me of my MG Y-Type but it appears larger than than. The flat-ish rear does suggest Bentley to me but it doesn't look that big.

The 2-initial-letter license plates ran way beyond 1932, despite the link in Frankenstang57's post. I had a '55 Standard 10 EM6049 (Bootle).

I'd say Jaguar 2.5 litre, especially as there's a near-side mounted spare wheel, by the looks of it.

If it were largers, I'd say James Young Rolls or Bentley -- but given its scale in comparison to the number plate, I'd guess something smaller, like a SS/Jaguar.

My vote is for Jag.
