I was wondering what ya all think about painting the engine of my 1959 TR3? I am completing the engine rebuild and ready to put it all back together. I am/was thinking I would paint the engine with a flat black ceramic engine paint supplied by Eastwood (I ordered the kit) but I got to wondering if this a good plan? I am also waiting for some warmer weather cuz it is really cold in the garage right now.
The next question is when to paint everything, do I wait until after I have completed the engine reassembly or paint the block before I put all the parts back together? It seems that the timing cover and oil pan were a glossy black originally and I am not sure if the head was ever painted? Is it important to use different paint finishes on the various parts and paint them seperatly? Yikes details! Any advise is appreciated!
