I'm replacing tranny rear seal at the drive shaft flange. Everything apart and I noted about 1/16 for and aft (end play) in the drive shaft flange when the nut was still tight.
Is this normal or do I need to add a thicker washer under the 1 1/4 in. nut to take up the slack? Ok, I haven't read the manual yet. It seems to me that for/aft movement would defeat the seal.
What is the foot pounds for tightening this nut?
